27TH HOUR

This is the message God has placed upon me to preach. Opening Sermon Hooks to Introduce the "27th Hour"

These opening hooks are designed to grab your attention right at the start of this message.

The Time-Bender Hook: "We all know what the 11th hour means; it’s the last possible second. We will talk about the 25th hour when we desperately need more time. But today, I want to ask you a question that defies the clock: Have you ever reached your 27th hour?"

The Confrontation Hook: "You can spend your entire life running on a 24-hour clock, building your own life. But salvation doesn't happen in human time. The 27th hour is that disruptive, supernatural moment where you stop running, stand at the foot of Matthew 27, and finally surrender to the cross."

The Transition Hook: "There is an hour that changes history, and there is an hour that changes eternity. Jesus met His hour on the cross. Today, I'm asking you: when will you meet Jesus? “Welcome to the 27th hour."

The Structural Bridge: From Psalm 27 to Matthew 27, I am using Psalm 27 of the Old Testament as a beginning foundation that perfectly sets up the breakthrough of the "27th hour" in the New Testament. Scripture and Picture the Atmosphere: The "27th Hour" Revelation, Psalm 27:1 "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?" The Cry for Rescue: In our darkest, most fearful moments, we look for a savior. The Psalmist is looking forward to the ultimate source of light. Matthew 27:45 "Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land." The Cost of Rescue at the cross: literal darkness covers the earth. Jesus enters our ultimate dark hour so that He can permanently become our "light and salvation." How I am instructed to preach this bridge is this: “In Psalm 27, David is surrounded by enemies and cries out that the Lord is his light and salvation. Fast forward to Matthew 27, where Jesus hangs in total darkness on the cross. Why? Because to become your light, He had to endure your darkness. Your 27th hour is the moment you trade the fearful darkness of your past for the absolute light of His salvation."

Romans 1:20 (KJV) reads: "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that you are without excuse:"
